How many toner cartridges will I use in a year?

Multiply monthly pages by 12 and divide by the cartridge yield. Printing 1,000 pages a month with a 2,000 page cartridge needs about 6 cartridges per year.

Does page coverage change how long a cartridge lasts?

Yes. Ratings assume 5% coverage. Invoices and forms with logos or dense text use more toner, so real yield can be lower and you may need cartridges sooner than estimated.

Should a busy office buy high-yield cartridges?

For heavy monthly printing, high-yield or XL cartridges lower the cost per page and mean fewer changes. For light use, standard cartridges avoid toner sitting unused for long periods.
